Mega Man X - That Moment When by JesseDuRona Mega Man X - That Moment When by JesseDuRona
Hey guys and gals!

As some of you might already know, I'm co-editing a Super Nintendo anthology. This is the 1st page of a 3-page comic I'm doing about Mega Man X for it.

This one is a bit more personal for me, because I pulled from my own experiences playing the game back in 1994. See back it my day, we didn't have this fancy internet stuff to help us out as much as we do now. I spent days trying to beat just ONE boss (ANY boss), because I had to play by trail-and-error. This is the way it should be done, and I think I'm a better gamer for it, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating :P

If you want more information about the SNES anthology, check out this post I did here: despondent-mega-man.deviantart…

Mega Man X is Capcom

So first you go beat Storm Eagle, then Armored Armadillo, then Flame Mammoth?

Not exactly.  This piece is supposed to express that feeling of playing MMX for the first time.  You try out different stages, get your butt kicked, and then try a new one.  Before too long you figure out a pattern.  I haven't posted the next page yet, but it makes more sense after that :D

I hear ya, took me a lot of game overs to figure out the formula, I couldn't beat Storm Eagle without the speed upgrade from Chill Penguin's stage.

I remember Chill penguin was the first boss I ever beat... My cousin told me most of the enemies' weaknesses, but some of them are kind of a no brainer. Sigma was still hard as crap too.

Those bosses were really fun though.

MMX was my first Megaman game, and I learned the same way you did. I didn't get any of the other games until much later, but MMX has always been one of my favorite games.

Megaman X was a pretty tough game for me at first. But I eventually got the hang of it. It was one of my favorite childhood games back then. And it still has a great level of nostalgic value for me today even though its been so long ago now.

I always was pretty good at Megaman games.  I grew up with MM2 and continued playing them throughout.  X gave me a bit of trouble but not so much the bosses as Sigma.  Everything else was pretty easy.

But this comic...brought a smile to my face.  Cant wait to see the others!
